      Arrive in Broome and be transferred to your hotel. Enjoy your day at leisure to explore this fascinating place. Head to the Sunset Bar and Grill at your resort to see one of Australia's best sunsets over Cable Beach.

      This evening, enjoy a Welcome Dinner before your fascinating journey commences.

    • Day 2 Gibb River Road, Tunnel Creek, Windjana Gorge, Fitzroy Crossing (BLD)

      Your day starts with a visit to the fascinating Boab Prison Tree. Believed to be more than 1,500 years old and measuring an incredible 14 metres in diameter, this remarkable tree was once used by early police patrols as a standing point for prisoners as they were walked to Derby. Today, the hollow tree is a registered Aboriginal site of great cultural significance.

      Continue your journey along the Gibb River Road, a remote 660-kilometre outback highway stretching between Broome and Kununurra. The 'Gibb' traverses the wild heart of the Kimberley, passing spectacular landscapes of intensely coloured ranges, dramatic gorges, deep rock pools and spectacular waterfalls. Turn off to visit Windjana Gorge, where sheer cliffs tower above glistening white sands. Admire the ancient marine fossils embedded in the gorge walls and scour the banks for freshwater crocodiles.,/p>

      Continue on to explore Tunnel Creek, a 750-metre-long natural tunnel carved through the Napier Range. With torch in hand, wade through the cool waters that fill the tunnel and emerge on the other side to the sight of a tranquil and stunning oasis. Later, arrive at Fitzroy Crossing.

    • Day 3 Geikie Gorge, Halls Creek, Purnululu National Park (BLD)

      Travel to Geikie Gorge National Park and explore magnificent Darngku Geikie Gorge. Flooding of the river has bleached the walls white over time - an intriguing sight that makes it popular with photographers. Board a unique cruise along the stunning gorge and learn more about the beautiful flora and fauna of this spectacular region.

      Enjoy a visit to Halls Creek, before travelling to Purnululu National Park, one of Australia's most stunning natural landscapes. Experience the first of three APT exclusive wilderness lodges as you settle into the tranquil ambience of the Bungle Bungle Wilderness Lodge, located in the heart of this stunning national park. Enjoy a delicious open air dinner with your fellow travellers in the newly renovated dining area.

    • Day 4 Purnululu NP, Piccaninny Creek, Cathedral Gorge (BLD)

      Explore the magic of Purnululu for yourself and discover the depth of the Bungle Bungle Range. The park is home to the famed black and orange striped domes, ascending to 578 metres above sea level. Standing over a grass-covered plain, steep cliffs form the western face. Created by the constant erosion of river movements over a staggering 20 million years, the range has both geological and Indigenous cultural significance.

      It is an imposing sight and one that you are sure to remember forever. Walk along Piccaninny Creek, a winding gorge within the Bungle Bungle domes. Your next stop is the natural amphitheatre of Cathedral Gorge, a spacious cavern where the acoustics are astounding. Marvel at the majestic beehive domes as your guide brings the natural history of the range to life.

      You may like to experience an optional scenic helicopter flight over the domes own expense. This evening, enjoy drinks as the sun sets over the striking beehive dome formations of the iconic Bungle Bungle Range.

    • Day 5 Echidna Chasm, Kununurra (BLD)

      Join a hike along a Livistona palm-fringed trail into Echidna Chasm, a spectacular natural cleft in the rock. Farewell the Bungle Bungle Range and travel along the Spring Creek Track through glorious rugged red landscapes to Kununurra, the gateway to the eastern Kimberley and the home of the Ord River Scheme, which is one of Australia's greatest engineering feats.

    • Day 6 Lake Argyle, Ord River, Kununurra(BLD)

      Travel to the majestic Lake Argyle, the largest man-made lake in the Southern Hemisphere. Join a spectacular wildlife cruise on the mighty Ord River. From a modern shaded vessel, discover a fascinating ecological system that has developed from the damming of the Ord River at two locations to create an area rich in wildlife, flora and undeniable beauty. Later, enjoy a mesmerising sunset while cruising on tranquil Lake Kununurra.

      This evening, you will have the opportunity to spend some time at leisure or simply relax within the surrounds of your hotel.

    • Day 7 Parry's Lagoon, Wyndham, El Questro Wilderness Park (BLD)

      Visit the serene Parry's Lagoon, a splendid birdwatcher's paradise. Head to Wyndham and view the breathtaking Cambridge Gulf from the spectacular Five Rivers Lookout. Enjoy lunch in Wyndham before arriving at El Questro Wilderness Park, which covers a staggering one million acres.

      Soak in the delectable hot pools of Zebedee Springs and leave feeling revitalised. Afterwards, make your way to Emma Gorge Resort, where you will enjoy dinner this evening.

    • Day 8 El Questro Wilderness Park, Home Valley Sation (BLD)

      After a hearty breakfast, continue to explore remarkable El Questro Wilderness Park. Hike to the picturesque Emma Gorge and be rewarded with a revitalising swim beneath a towering droplet waterfall.

      Later, cross the mighty Pentecost River into iconic Home Valley Station, an immense cattle property. Discover the spellbinding scenery that captivated audiences in Baz Luhrmann's movie 'Australia', including the imposing yet strikingly beautiful Cockburn Range. Head to a superb viewing area as you savour this inspirational setting with sunset drinks, as you gaze out to the ever-changing colours of the Cockburn Range as the sun retreats.

    • Day 9 Gibb River Road, Mitchell Plateau (BLD)

      Back on the Gibb River Road, ford the mighty Durack River, then turn off and travel north on the Kalumburu Road towards the isolated Mitchell Plateau. Along the way, stop at Drysdale River Station for lunch.

      Afterwards, enter a remote world of Livistona palm forests, beautiful lookouts, magnificent waterfalls and isolated swimming holes. For the next two nights, experience Mitchell Falls Wilderness Lodge, with its brand new Ungolan Pavilion, where you can relax in the lounge, treat yourself to a drink or read up on the local culture.

      In the heart of the Mitchell Plateau, your accommodation is perfectly positioned beside the Pandanus palm-fringed Camp Creek, where you can enjoy a refreshing dip. Perhaps unwind with a drink as the sun sets, then later this evening, be treated to a tantalising three-course dinner that showcases the region's finest local produce. For the perfect accompaniment to your meal, a selection of flavoursome beers from Matso's Broome Brewery and wines from Rosabrook Estate are available.

    • Day 10 Mitchell Falls, Helicopter flight (BLD)

      Today you have a full day to discover the beauty of Mitchell Falls, with its magnificent tiered waterfalls and Indigenous art. When available, local Aboriginal guides will join the adventure, imparting their knowledge of the area and sharing their cultural beliefs.

      Begin with a guided hike to Little Mertens Falls to view rarely seen Aboriginal art. Continue to Big Mertens Falls before arriving at the incredible Mitchell Falls. With superb scenery and rich culture, you can swim in the pools above the falls and spot the region's abundant wildlife.

      We have also included a helicopter flight over Mitchell Falls and the surrounding wilderness back to the vehicle or, if you prefer, hike back with your guide. Longer helicopter flights over this captivating and remote coastline are available at additional expense.

      Later, it's time to return to your wilderness lodge to relax, knowing you have just experienced a day most people can only dream of. Perhaps spend some time in front of the camp fire recounting today's tales.

    • Day 11 Bradshaw Art, King Edward River, Drysdale River Station (BLD)

      The Kimberley's rock art is arguably some of the world's oldest, with evidence suggesting the earliest occupation in the region dates back 50,000 to 60,000 years ago. Visit Wandjina and Bradshaw Art Gwion Gwion galleries and swim in the clear waters at King Edward River.

      Cross the beautiful Drysdale River and arrive at Drysdale River Station, where you will enjoy a unique stay at this historic cattle property, including a delicious dinner.

    • Day 12 Manning Gorge, Galvans Gorge, Gibb River Road (BLD)

      Travel through the heart of Kimberley cattle country to discover some of the region's most secluded gorges. At beautiful Manning Gorge, you'll enjoy lunch in the shade of paperbark trees. Look out for the region's bird life and enjoy a refreshing swim in the pristine water.

      Continue to Galvans Gorge, where a short walk leads to a picturesque waterhole where boab trees cling to the escarpment above. Inspect the rock art on the gorge walls and take a leisurely swim.

      Later, arrive at Bell Gorge Wilderness Lodge in time for dinner, which will become your home for the next two nights. The remarkable lodge is situated in an enviable position, with a sprawling lawn to relax and unwind, while offering stunning views of the King Leopold Range.

    • Day 13 Bell Gorge, Hiking & Swimming (BLD)

      Back on the Gibb River Road, travel to Bell Gorge, where stunning cliffs surround a series of tiered waterholes. Sitting approximately 300 metres above sea level, Bell Gorge is an idyllic natural spot for swimming and photography. Here you can also enjoy a spot of bird-watching.

      Should you be feeling particularly energetic, you may take the opportunity to hike to the lower pool of the gorge and enjoy a relaxing dip below the cascading waterfall.

    • Day 14 King Leopold Range, Derby, Broome(BLD)

      Back on the Gibb River Road, travel through the King Leopold Range Conservation Park to Derby, where you will visit the Mowanjum Art and Culture Centre.

      Return to Broome's Cable Beach Club Resort and Spa and later this evening, perhaps enjoy a drink before enjoying a special Farewell Dinner at your resort. There is no better setting to bid farewell to your Driver-Guide and new-found friends as you recount the amazing adventure you have all shared.

      Today, your magnificent 4WD adventure through the Kimberley draws to a conclusion. Discover the delights of Cable Beach Club Resort and Spa as you enjoy your day at leisure. Perhaps relax on the beach, enjoy a free art and history tour, or take an early morning Yoga session. Later, you will be transferred to the airport for your flight home

    The sandstone massif of the Bungle Bungle Range is almost 99 times the area of Uluru – there are more stunning features and spectacular landforms to see in this half hour scenic flight than you would imagine possible.

    The flight includes the hidden red rock gorges of the northwest tip, Picaninny Gorge from end to end and the unique beehive formations that have contributed to the listing of the Bungle Bungle Range as Australia's newest World Heritage area.
