On the Gulf Savannah Tours you will travel in a 13 seater safari vehicle and this vehicle does not have a toilet on board.

Clothing & What to Bring

Casual gear is a must. You will need minimal changes of clothing. T-shirts, jeans, shorts, bathers, bath and hand towel, a pair of rubber soled shoes or joggers, a warm jumper or jacket, hat, torch, insect repellent and toiletries. A track suit is most useful, too. On Camping safaris you will need a sleeping bag, sheet, and a pillow.

Luggage Checklist

Note: Due to workplace health and safety regulations, luggage cannot exceed 10kg per person.

THERE IS PLENTY OF OPPORTUNITY TO WASH YOUR CLOTHES

  • 1 Soft bag per person, as described above. (You may be asked to transfer your luggage into different bags). It is requested that all passengers bring a soft bag, no suitcases with wheels, or hard body cases, as they never look the same again, and they can damage others. An overnight bag is perfect or a smaller type duffle-bag. We have found that backpacks with external frames are difficult to stow. Airlines also have luggage restrictions of 1 piece per person policy.
  • 1 Sleeping bag on camping safaris only
  • 1 Sheet (rolled in sleeping bag) on camping safaris only
  • 1 Pillow + pillow case (packed in garbage bag) on camping safaris only
  • Photo ID
  • 4 to 5 Changes of clothes (t-shirts & shorts)
  • Washing powder
  • 1 Light jacket
  • 1 Pair of bathers
  • 1 Towel
  • Toiletries
  • Hat
  • Sunglasses
  • Torch
  • Insect repellant
  • Sun block
  • Camera
  • Binoculars
  • Small personal water bottle
  • Small daypack
Smoking

As per Government Regulations, smoking is not permitted in vehicles. Ample stops provide time for “smoking breaks” en route.

Transfer of Tour Dates

Should you wish to transfer to another of our tours, a handling fee of $15 may be charged, but no cancellation fee applies unless within full payment period.

Unused Tour Sectors

If a passenger fails to join a tour/safari or joins in after departure, or leaves it prior to completion, no refunds can be made. No refunds will be made in respect of any part of the tour including food, excursions, accommodation, etc., that are not used or undertaken.

"We were all impressed with the camera mounted on the dash as the picture, it relayed, was very clear and enhanced our trip. Overall we were all impressed with the vehicle as we came to realize that there was a place for everything and everything had to be in place. In deed the whole trip was an adventure but a very enjoyable adventure. The food on the trip, both on land and sea, was excellent."

"We wanted to let you know that we had a fantastic trip enjoyed every day. Our guide was very organised and a great cook, she is also entertaining and her knowledge of the Kimberley and NT very much appreciated. Our sincere thanks and we commend Heritage Tours for conducting such a well organised tour."

"Just a quick note to say many thanks to you for a great trip to the Kimberley. Before leaving to go on the trip we promised each other not to have any pre-conceived ideas or expectations. The locations we visited were absolutely fantastic - the Ord River cruise, Emma Gorge, Windjana Gorge, Beehive Domes, Mitchell Falls, Echidna Chasm and Tunnel Creek were the highlights for us but the other locations were close behind. If we were to have had expectations before the trip they most certainly would have been exceeded !! Camping out under the stars really made it for us also!
The land is certainly remote with a history going back millions of years. Many thanks again."
