HIGHLIGHTS:
DAY 1 PERTH – NORTHAMPTON (LD) As we set forth to the North we explore the Pinnacle Desert in Nambung National Park, where a myriad of tombstone-like limestone pillars tower in excess of 5 meters above the desert sands. Being visible from the Indian Ocean and first appearing on Dutch Navigational Maps in the 1600's, The Pinnacles are described as weird geological phenomena. From here we stop for lunch at Hangover Bay and meander our way through coastal / cray-fishing towns and the Batavia Coast to our accommodation in the Northampton area. DAY 2 NORTHAMPTON – KALBARRI (BLD) Today's journey takes us to the many and varied features of the Kalbarri National Park. From majestic coastal cliffs and gorges we venture further into the Murchison River Gorge section to “Natures Window” and “Z Bend Gorge”. Tonight we will be staying in accommodation in the seaside township of Kalbarri.
DAY 3 KALBARRI – MONKEY MIA / SHARK BAY (BLD) World Heritage Listed Shark Bay here we come! Shark Bay's attributes are endless with features of exceptional natural beauty, superlative natural phenomena, representation of a major stage of earth's evolutionary history. Not to mention the biggest wildlife conservation program ever undertaken in Australia, all will become clear as we visit the Stromatolites of Hamlin Pool, Shell Beach, 110 kilometers long and up to 10 meters deep of pure shell, and Eagle Bluff Lookout. Once we settle into our campsite at Monkey Mia Dolphin Resort it is time for you to embark on you idyllic sunset cruise with an abundance of marine fauna, dugongs, dolphins, turtles, rays, fish and off course SHARKS. Campground with full facilities.DAY 4 MONKEY MIA – CORAL BAY (BL) Let's not forget the dolphins at Monkey Mia as we head down to the beach for their ritualistic morning visit. Learn how, why and when these amazing animals started interacting at such close proximity to us here mortals. From here it is a big day to Coral Bay, our gateway to Ningaloo Reef. DAY 5 CORAL BAY - NINGALOO REEF (BLD) Welcome to the largest fringing reef system in Australia. Relatively unheard of or visited until the 1990's, Ningaloo boasts over 500 fish and 180 coral species. Being the only large reef in the world found so close (within 100 meters off shore) to a continental land mass, we can explore its waters with ease in close, calm protected waters. Our introduction to Ningaloo for you will be a 2 hour glass bottom boat cruise and snorkel – you don't have to get wet. The rest of the day is yours to relax and or explore other options to enjoy this marine playground. Campground with full facilities.
DAY 6 CORAL BAY (BD) As there is so much to see and do in Coral Bay, most visitors don't want to leave, so we are not going to. This day is all yours. Other tours / options available at your own expense are:

DAY 7 CORAL BAY – EXMOUTH (BL) Today we venture further up the Coral Coast and North West Cape to Shot Hole Canyon and on into Exmouth. A town born of controversy as a US Navy Communications Station, now provides a prime access point to the Ningaloo Marine and Cape Range National Parks. A trip up to Vlaming Head Lighthouse will give us sensational 360 degree views over the Cape, Ningaloo and Exmouth Gulf. Campground with full facilities.DAY 8 CAPE RANGE NP, NINGALOO REEF, EXMOUTH (BLD) Today we spend exploring Cape Range National Park, which incudes Yardie Creek Gorge, Turquoise Bay, Milyering Visitor Centre and Bundegi Beach. Or for the keen fishermen amongst us you have the option to go fishing at own expense- Ningaloo being classed as an anglers delight for Reef & Game Fishing, or swim with whale sharks, or take one of the many dive packages.DAY 9 EXMOUTH – TOM PRICE (BLD) An early start takes us away from the coast well into the heart of the Pilbara and Hammersley Ranges. We witness amazing contrasts of blue skies, red rocks and green trees as we head to the iron ore mining town of Tom Price. Campground with full facilities.DAY 10 TOM PRICE - KARIJINI NATIONAL PARK (BLD) The vast Karijini National Park is an ancient landscape of massive mountains and steep escarpments cut by spectacular gorges more than 100 meters deep. Within these chasms hide crystal clear rock pools, cascade waterfalls and lush vegetation. Today we descend into Weano and Hancock Gorges and marvel at lookouts of Oxer and Junction Pool before arriving at our campsite at the Savannah Campground (ST).DAY 11 KARIJINI - MUNJINA (AUSKI) (BLD) Another “Ore” inspiring day in Karijini National Park as we take in Joffre Falls and Kalamina Falls. Then traversing to the North East section of the park to Dales Gorge, Circular Pool, Fortescue Falls and Fern Pool, before arriving at our campsite at Munjina. Campground with full facilities.DAY 12 MUNJINA - MILLSTREAM - CHICHESTER NP (BLD) Heading back towards the coast through Wittenoon, the asbestos mining town that was literally turned into a ghost town overnight. It is then on to Millstream – Chichester National Park with stops at Chinderwarriner, Crossing Pool, Deep Reach Pool and Python Pool to our bush camp at Snake Creek. (Bc + T)DAY 13 MILLSTREAM NP - 80 MILE BEACH (BLD) Back to the North West Coastal Highway we travel on via Port Headland to 80 Mile Beach, a true oasis along the Great Sandy Desert. Campground with full facilities and sunsets to die for!DAY 14 80 MILE BEACH - BROOME (BL) The last leg of our adventure allows you to take in the full magnitude of the Great Sandy Desert, along the Great Northern Highway. On arrival into Broome we have lunch at Town Beach. Your guide will give you a navigational tour around this holiday Mecca to Gantheaume Point and Cable Beach before taking you to your Broome accommodation. |
